Honour Based Violence and Forced Marriage

There is often only one chance to recognise when a young person is at risk of honour based violence and respond appropriately.

In 2008 the Thames Valley Partnership was commissioned by the Thames Valley Criminal Justice Board to organise two conferences around the subject of honour based violence and forced marriage (one in Berkshire and one in Bucks) specifically aimed at :

  • raising awareness of multi-agency work already going on in this area
  • encouraging networking and sharing of best practice
  • offering a forum to learn more about what lies at the heart of honour based violence and forced marriage.

Both conferences proved extremely popular, attracting well over 200 delegates in total, both front-line practitioners and strategic policy influencers.

If you would like to learn more about training or other services we can offer around this area of work please contact
